THE FORMAL CHANNEL

contact & requests

for the warm version of this page - a note from Maayan about the
project itself - see about.

this page is the formal channel for requests, reports and removals.

ONE ADDRESS FOR EVERYTHING

a real person reads what arrives.

questions, requests, concerns, and reports all go to a single inbox. sensitive requests are prioritised.

hello@seenandheard.space

typical response time - within 14 days

YOU CAN WRITE TO US TO

  • ask a question about the project
  • request the removal of a post you wrote
  • request further anonymisation of a post (for example, if it contains a detail you no longer want there)
  • report a post that includes identifying details about you or someone else
  • report content that is harmful, unsafe, threatening or otherwise breaks the community guidelines
  • raise a privacy concern or make a request under data-protection law
  • report an accessibility issue (these also go to the accessibility coordinator named on the accessibility page)
  • propose a collaboration, share research interest or contact us about the broader series this project belongs to

REMOVAL & ANONYMISATION REQUESTS

because submissions are anonymous and are not linked to accounts, emails or any other identifier, we cannot verify that you wrote a specific post. we can only locate the post you describe. please include as much of the following as you can:

  • the text or part of the text, of the post
  • the URL of the post if you have it (open the post, copy the address)
  • a screenshot
  • the approximate date or time of publication, if you remember
  • the approximate date or time of submission, if you remember
  • any other context that would help us find the right post - mood, tags, country, age bracket, language

the more of this you can give us, the faster we can act. one detail (the exact opening line, for example) is often enough.

once we locate the post, we will either remove it or anonymise it further, as you have asked. we will write back to confirm what we did.

WHAT WE CANNOT DO

  • we cannot verify that you were the original writer of a post. our decision to act on a request is based on the request itself, the context provided and our judgement about safety and privacy.
  • we cannot find a post that was never published - for example, a submission that did not pass moderation - because rejected submissions are deleted on a short cycle.
  • we cannot identify the writer of another person's post to you. that is the entire point of this space.
  • we cannot respond in real time to a crisis. if you are in danger, please contact a local emergency service or a trained support line - see the resources on the community guidelines page.

REPORTING HARMFUL CONTENT

if a post threatens someone, sexualises a minor, includes identifying details about a real person without consent or otherwise breaks the community guidelines, please report it. tell us:

  • which post (text, URL or both)
  • which rule you believe it breaks
  • any context we should know

we read every report, even when we do not write back. we act on the ones that require action.

A NOTE ABOUT WHAT WE DO NOT DO

we do not respond to every message. some messages - especially commercial pitches, requests to advertise or requests for traffic-sharing partnerships - will not receive a reply.

messages from women who wrote something and need it changed or removed are always read and always answered.
